MORE EFFORT IS NEEDED TO IMPROVE ICT SUBJECT IN TANZANIAN INSTITUTIONS

‘Words never break bone’ and ‘always a barking dog never bites people’ the system of education introduced in Tanzania country on the subject of INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) that facing great challenges to the teachers and students in their studying.
Theoretical method seems as a dominant method of teaching ICT students in most Tanzanian schools from primary schools to colleges.
The teacher teaches ICT theoretically since there are scarcity of teaching equipments such as computers, power supply and other associated facilities of ICT SUBJECT.
Despite the importance of ICT subject to the learners and in the development of the nation, government of Tanzania still is dreaming on how to find alternative on getting ICT facilities as well as leave out the using theory only on teaching.
Students are swallowed poison which later on will kill the coming generations since the ministry of education and vocation training prepares teachers or specialists who know nothing about practical but they are good ones on theoretical explanation.
Even some facilitators themselves know nothing about ICT subject, hence before entering in the class they memory first before vomiting before the students.
Addition to that, in rural schools and colleges there are bare electricity power compared to urban schools and colleges, how ICT subject taught efficiently to the rural students compared to urban students?
Some of teacher interviewed by the writer of this blog said he know nothing about ICT SUBJECT and he cannot teach well the students since even him he never saw a computer rather than seeing computer images on the teaching books.
“Government forces us to teach ICT in schools while it fails to send us on short course of ICT in order to get skills on this subject.”  The teacher said.
Have you heard rumors about your government if it has planned to send us computers and power supply in rural areas than blaming us why students fail? Another teacher asked the journalist.
The journalist replied nothing on the question has questioned.
Despite his blames over government, he suggested that if the society wants to prepare professionals students who will be usefully for national development in economic, cultural, social and political, it should stop bare promises and talking without actions and it should full fill promises and talking in actions .
Also it should find alternative to send power supply and ICT equipments in rural schools and colleges in order to simplify the teaching and learning ICT Subject to teachers and students.
